We conducted a simulation test during the sandstorm season, using genuine wiper blades from automotive manufacturers to test scratch resistance after 10,000 cycles of movement in yellow sand.
The test results are as follows:
After 10,000 Cycles Simulation Test | Product | |
---|---|---|
Solid Shield | CP | |
Surface Comparison | No scratches | Scratches |
Water Contact Angle Change | 105° | 73° |
Initial Value 113° | Initial Value 90° |
The gravel impact test, also known as the Grava test, uses an air pressure machine to ensure the gravel diameter is about 10 mm. Gravel with a particle size of 3.2-4.8 mm is sprayed at the glass surface from a 35-degree angle at a distance of 1 meter (impact speed approximately 80 km/h)
Using QUV (Ultraviolet Accelerated Weathering Tester) for accelerated durability testing, the results show that Solid Shield has impressive weather resistance. After testing for 1000 hours in an environment of 85°C high temperature and 85% humidity, there were no obvious cracking, peeling, discoloration, or fading.
The UVB-313 lamp used for the test does not reach the short-wave ultraviolet rays present in sunlight, maximizing the acceleration of aging. (Test standards comply with JISD0205 Japanese Automotive Grade Component Weathering Test Standards)
The water contact angle is 108 degrees. After SWOM (Simulated Weather Resistance Test) for 300 hours, the contact angle remains at 102 degrees with no significant change.

How to Extend the Lifespan of Solid Shield Windshield Film?
The lifespan of Solid Shield Windshield Film depends on the cleanliness of the wipers and the car’s windshield. Solid Shield Windshield Film are consumables with characteristics similar to tires, brake pads, and wipers. Different variables in usage management will affect the specific use cases. Regular maintenance can conveniently ensure stable quality and extend the product’s lifespan. Conversely, neglecting daily maintenance will cause risk factors that affect the lifespan.
1. Regular Replacement and Maintenance of Wipers.
2. Avoid exposing the vehicle to high temperatures, sand, dust, heavy rain, and other harsh weather conditions. 3. Regularly clean the car’s windshield with mild detergent and water to ensure it is clean.
4. Advisable to park the car at roofed parking space.
Regular Replacement and Maintenance of Wipers.
Wipers should be maintained or regularly replaced once a month or every 5000 kilometers to avoid damage and wear to the Solid Shield Windshield film’s surface rain-repellent hydrophobic coating, which will affect the product’s lifespan.
Common Wiper Issues: Dirt, Aging & dust.
1. Fixed replacement every 5000 kilometers.
2. Preventive maintenance should be performed once a month or every 5000 kilometers
3. Wiper maintenance: Spray WD-40 onto a clean dry cloth and wipe the wiper for 1 minute to clean off the dirt.
