Indoor Air Quality Hazards in New Cars
- Results of recent studies indicate that levels of airborne chemicals in new car interiors are significantly higher than is recommended for today’s indoor environments
- The danger does not totally go away as the new car smell fades and levels of these chemicals drop over time, but can increase when excessive heat builds up in lock cars under hot and humid weather, causing the levels to rise again.
- The chemical mixture is comprised of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including;
- Formaldehyde – can be found in car paint, car interior finishing such as seat cushions, sealant, wood, etc;
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) – used as flame retardants;
- Phthalic acid esters (Phthalates) – which are emitted from materials and finishes used to make car interiors, such as plastics, wood, leather, textiles, seat cushions, glues and sealants.

- Smoking in cars causes harm in several ways:
- Harm to the smoker from inhaling tobacco smoke – eye and throat irritation, headache, cough, dizziness and nausea; decline in lung function for asthma patient;

APPLICATION METHOD
- SmartCoat is negatively charged through the electrostatic sprayer before application.
- Upon releasing to the air, the negatively charged SmartCoat will be attracted to the positive surfaces, and embedded itself into the pores of the surfaces.
- When it dries, it crystalized and become one with the surface. SmartCoat will enhance the hardness of the treated surface 9 times harder, thus making it difficult to be removed.
How SmartCoat work with Photocatalyst?
- SmartCoat’s technology utilizes any light source to activate its oxidative ability when it is applied onto surfaces.
- Through this process, SmartCoat’s surfaces are able to break any organic matters upon contact.
